Vacation Choices LLC advertises free gifts to draw attendees to 90-minute travel membership seminars; however, consumers in Oregon, Washington and other states complain to Better Business Bureau about the Olympia-based company’s transaction traps.
Some attendees assert that travel vouchers, roundtrip airfares, hotel stays and restaurant gift cards are not free—as promised—and conditions, restrictions, taxes and fees are not fully disclosed on mailings and advertisements.
Others say it is difficult to reach the company for cancellations or refunds after signing up for vacation programs or memberships. Some complainants paid hundreds or thousands of dollars for deposits during presentations.
Vacation Choices also does business as VC, Choice Resort Vacations LLC, and Luxury Discount Travel Club; collectively, since July 2011, there are 70 complaints and 10 are unresolved.
BBB serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington advises consumers to steer clear of trip traps at sales presentations. Be wary of free offers and fully review program requirements before signing paperwork. Find free travel advice and complaint resources at bbb.org.
